About Daisenryaku (japan)
Daisenryaku came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, developed by SystemSoft. It was part of that wave of complex strategy games that started appearing on consoles, a genre more common on computers at the time. You don't see many like it on the NES, which makes it stand out.
You control entire armies, moving different types of units like infantry, tanks, and planes across a grid based map. The goal is to eliminate the enemy forces or capture their headquarters. Key mechanics involve managing supply lines for your units and capturing cities and airports to generate more income and produce reinforcements. The game moves at a deliberate, thoughtful pace, and a single mistake can cost you the entire battle. Playing it feels like a careful, long form puzzle where every decision has weight.
