You control Gen-san, a carpenter who swings his large hammer as his primary weapon. Your goal is to fight through construction sites and buildings, rescuing your kidnapped coworkers from a rival construction gang. The game progresses screen by screen; you clear each area of enemies before moving to the next. You use your hammer to smash enemies and break open certain blocks, sometimes revealing power-ups like a projectile attack or temporary invincibility.
