Daikatana on N64 is... well, it’s a trip. You’ve got this time-hopping sword, a couple of AI companions who’ll walk into every trap imaginable, and levels that swing wildly from ancient Greece to cyberpunk future. The first 10 minutes? You’re blasting frogs with a shotgun in some swamp—classic.
It’s janky, sure, but there’s something weirdly charming about it. The weapons feel chunky (in a good way), and some of the era-switching ideas were ahead of their time. Just don’t expect a smooth ride—this is peak late-’90s ambition with all the rough edges left in.
If you’re into retro games with personality—flaws and all—this one’s got stories to tell.
