About Daffy Duck - The Marvin Missions (europe)
I picked up Daffy Duck: The Marvin Missions for the Game Boy around 1994, a Sunsoft release that fit right in with the portable action platformers of the time. It was one of those Looney Tunes games that tried to capture the cartoon energy on a small screen, a common goal for developers back then.
You control Daffy Duck, or rather his Duck Dodgers persona, through a series of side scrolling levels. Your main job is to stop Marvin the Martian, which involves running, jumping, and using a limited projectile attack to deal with enemies. The game is structured screen by screen, with a focus on navigating environmental hazards and finding keys to unlock doors. It moves at a brisk pace, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially with some of the platforming. Playing it feels like a quick, sometimes frantic dash through a cartoon obstacle course.
