About Cyber Stadium Series - Base Wars
I first played Cyber Stadium Series: Base Wars on the NES back in 1991. It was published by Konami, a company known for a lot of solid games on that system. This one stood out because it took a standard baseball game and gave it a robotic, futuristic twist.
You control a team of robot players in a baseball league. The main goal is to win the championship, but every play can turn into a fight. If a runner is tagged, or a close call happens at a base, the game shifts to a one-on-one combat sequence where you battle with weapons to decide the outcome. You also manage your team's funds between games to repair damaged players or buy new ones. The game moves at a decent pace, but the combat adds a layer of difficulty that can quickly turn the score. It feels like a tense, strategic brawl disguised as a sport.
