About Crazy Climber (japan)
Crazy Climber came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in Japan, published by Nichibutsu. It was a conversion of their earlier arcade game, fitting right in with the straightforward, action-focused titles of the early NES library.
You control a man in a white suit scaling the outside of a skyscraper. Your goal is simple: reach the top before your time runs out. The core mechanics involve moving your climber's left and right hands independently to grab the next set of windowsills, navigating past obstacles like falling flowerpots and pesky birds. The pacing is relentless, with new hazards appearing on each floor, and the difficulty comes from managing two hands while the world tries to knock you off. It feels like a constant, precarious balancing act against the clock and the building itself.
