About Crayon Shin-chan 4 - Ora No Itazura Daihenshin (japan)
I first played Crayon Shin-chan 4 on the Game Boy back in 1994. It was published by Bandai, a company that released a lot of games based on anime during that era. On a system filled with platformers and RPGs, this one stood out simply because it was a Shin-chan game; it felt like a direct, quirky import from the show's world.
You control the mischievous five year old, Shinnosuke Nohara, as he runs through his neighborhood. The main goal is to cause a certain amount of trouble, or "itazura," in each stage. Your primary actions are running, jumping, and using a slingshot to hit objects and people. You explore the area screen by screen, looking for specific characters to pester or items to interact with to complete your mischief quota. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the challenge comes from figuring out the exact sequence of events needed to cause chaos without getting caught. It feels like you are orchestrating a small, playful disaster from a child's perspective.
