Crash 'n' The Boys - Street Challenge is this weird, chaotic NES sports game that feels like someone mashed together track events with a street brawl. You pick a team (I always went with Crash, obviously) and compete in events like pole vaulting, swimming, or—my personal favorite—the "combat" mode where you just beat the crap out of the other team mid-race.
The controls take a second to get used to—button mashing works until you realize timing actually matters, especially in the javelin throw. And the pixelated taunts from the rival team? Classic 80s trash talk. It’s janky, unbalanced, and somehow that’s part of the charm. Just don’t expect anything close to realism.
Oh, and if you’re playing online, Z/X/C handle the action buttons, while A/S/D do... whatever the NES’s X/Y/Z were supposed to do. Good luck figuring that out without trial and error.
