Cosmo Police Game

Cosmo Police is one of those weird little NES gems that slipped under the radar. You play as a space cop (obviously) blasting through side-scrolling levels packed with aliens that look like they escaped from a '80s anime. The controls take a second to get used to—your guy slides a bit when you stop running—but once it clicks, you start nailing those pixel-perfect jumps between floating platforms.
The music’s got that classic chiptune energy, all bouncy basslines and laser sound effects. And the power-ups? Grabbing the spread shot feels like cheating until you hit the later levels where everything’s swarming at you. Just don’t get too attached to your lives—this one doesn’t pull punches.
It’s short, tough, and exactly the kind of game you’d rent as a kid and rage-quit before beating. Now it’s weirdly nostalgic.
