Cool Spot on the Game Boy came out in 1994 from Virgin Interactive. It was part of that wave of licensed platformers on the system, where you controlled a mascot through a series of themed levels. This one just happened to feature the 7 Up dot, which was a strange but not entirely unwelcome sight on the small screen.

You guide Spot himself, a red dot with sunglasses, through side scrolling stages. Your main goal is to rescue other Spot buddies who are trapped in cages. You run, jump on platforms, and bounce on enemies to defeat them. A key mechanic is using your extendable limbs to grab onto hooks and swing across gaps. You also collect letters to spell "UNCOLA" for extra lives, and you hunt for red stars hidden in tricky spots. The game moves at a brisk pace, and some of the later stages demand precise jumps and timing. It feels like a quick, energetic challenge that keeps your thumbs busy.
