Conker’s Bad Fur Day is one of those N64 games that sticks with you—not just because it’s ridiculous, but because it’s smart about being ridiculous. You play as Conker, a drunk, foul-mouthed squirrel who stumbles through a world that feels like a fever dream. One minute you’re fighting a giant opera-singing poop monster, the next you’re dodging bullets in a Matrix-style parody. The humor’s crude, but it’s got this weird charm—like a B-movie that knows exactly how dumb it is.
The controls are a little janky (it is an N64 game), but the level variety keeps things interesting. You’ll platform through war zones, solve puzzles as a caveman, even replay Reservoir Dogs with angry teddy bears. It’s not for kids—unless you want to explain why a sunflower has, uh, anatomy—but if you grew up with Rare’s quirkier stuff, this is peak nostalgia with a side of absurdity.
Still holds up as one of the weirdest, funniest games from that era.
