About Conan
Ocean Software released Conan for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989. It was part of that era where many games tried to capture the feel of arcade action or fantasy films on the home console. You control Conan himself, the barbarian from the stories, and your goal is to rescue a princess from a wizard's fortress.
You move Conan screen by screen through side scrolling areas and dungeons, using a sword for close combat and a bow for attacking distant enemies. The main objective involves navigating these environments, defeating monsters, and finding keys to unlock doors. The pacing is deliberate, as you carefully manage your limited arrows and health while dealing with enemies that respawn when you leave and re enter a screen. It feels like a methodical, sometimes unforgiving trek through a hostile world.
