Clay Fighter: Sculptor's Cut came out for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 from Interplay. It was a late release in the N64's life, a time when the console was already well established. This version was a Blockbuster rental exclusive, which made finding a physical copy a real challenge back then. It built on the original Clay Fighter 63 1/3, adding a few new characters and stages to the roster.

You control one of many bizarre fighters, like a living snowman or a walking pile of goo, in one-on-one battles. The main goal is to deplete your opponent's health bar before they deplete yours. Signature mechanics include using special moves, which often involve stretching or morphing your clay body in strange ways, and collecting falling blobs from the sky to power up your character temporarily. The game also features a unique "sculpt" system where you can sometimes reshape parts of the stage. The pacing is fast and a bit chaotic, with the difficulty often spiking depending on the opponent. It feels silly and unpredictable, a game where you are just as likely to win by luck as by skill.
