About Classic Concentration
Classic Concentration on the Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1990 from GameTek. It was a time when board games and game shows were being adapted for the console, and this was a straightforward port of the television memory game. You got the core experience without much extra flash, which was pretty typical for NES licenses back then.
You control a cursor to select squares on a board, trying to find matching pairs of symbols hidden behind them. The main objective is to clear the entire board to reveal a rebus puzzle, a picture made of words and images that you then have to solve. The signature mechanics are the straightforward memory matching and the bonus car round, where you can win a virtual vehicle by matching numbers. The game starts simply but the boards get larger and more complex, testing your recall as you progress. It feels like a quiet, methodical test of your memory against a ticking clock.
