Choujin Sentai Jetman is one of those classic NES side-scrollers where you pick a Jetman—each with their own weapon and health pool—and brawl through waves of Vyram goons. Red Hawk and Black Condor hit harder with their swords but feel a little slower, while Blue Swallow and White Swan zip around with their blasters at the cost of being way squishier. Yellow Owl’s somewhere in the middle, trading punches with his gauntlets.
It’s not the deepest fighter, but there’s something satisfying about plowing through enemies with your team’s gimmicky weapons. Just don’t expect fancy combos—this is pure ‘80s arcade-style button mashing. The sprite work’s actually pretty solid for an NES game, especially when the Jetmen pull off their transformation sequence.
If you’re into retro Super Sentai or just want a no-frills action game, it’s a decent time waster. Just don’t pick White Swan unless you really hate having health.
