Chopper Attack is one of those N64 games that makes you feel like an absolute badass in the first five minutes. You hop into a helicopter, guns blazing, and immediately get thrown into chaotic dogfights where dodging missiles feels just as intense as firing them. The controls take a second to get used to—tilting forward actually makes you dive, which I kept messing up at first—but once it clicks, weaving through canyon explosions is stupidly satisfying.
It’s not just mindless shooting, either. Some missions have you escorting allies or taking out specific targets, and the weapon upgrades (hellooo homing missiles) actually change how you approach fights. The graphics are blocky by today’s standards, but the explosions and terrain still hold up for a late-’90s N64 title. If you miss that era of straightforward arcade-style action, this one’s a blast.
Just don’t expect a deep story—you’re here to blow stuff up, and the game delivers.
