Choplifter III came out for the Game Boy in 1994, developed by Beam Software. It was part of that wave of portable games trying to bring a full console style experience to the small screen, a time when you could carry a helicopter rescue mission in your pocket.

You pilot a helicopter, flying left and right across side scrolling levels to locate and rescue prisoners of war. Your main job is to land near the POWs, let them climb aboard, and then ferry them back to your home base while avoiding enemy fire from tanks, jets, and other aircraft. The signature mechanics involve managing your helicopter's limited fuel and carefully navigating tight spaces to land without crashing. The pacing is tense; you are constantly watching your fuel gauge and scanning for new threats while trying to plan efficient rescue routes. It feels like a race against your own resources as much as against the enemy.
