Oh man, Chip 'n Dale 2 is one of those NES gems that flew under the radar outside Japan. It's the sequel to Rescue Rangers, but cranked up - you and a buddy (or solo if you're brave) toss apples and boxes at weirdly aggressive robot squirrels and bulldogs. The first level throws you right into a toy factory with conveyor belts and springs everywhere - classic Capcom platforming chaos.
What I love is how the screen scrolls vertically and horizontally, which felt huge back in '93. The music's got that bouncy Capcom charm too. Pro tip: grab your partner and throw them at enemies when you're out of apples - it's stupidly fun. Just watch out for those screen-crushing presses in the later levels.
Still holds up if you're into old-school co-op platformers with some silly physics.
