Oh man, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers on NES was one of those rare licensed games that actually ruled. You pick either Chip or Dale (Dale's faster but weaker, classic trade-off) and bounce through levels tossing apples and boxes at weirdly aggressive robot toys and insects. The co-op was surprisingly fun—you could actually pick up and throw your partner, which led to both hilarious teamwork moments and some very intentional "accidents."

What I loved was the non-linear map—you could tackle stages in different orders, which felt way ahead of its time for 1990. The music's stupid catchy too, especially the factory level theme. Just don't get me started on that final boss; took me ages to figure out the pattern as a kid. Still holds up if you're into retro platformers with some charm.
