Championship Pool on GB is one of those classic Game Boy titles that somehow nails the feel of real pool despite the tiny screen. You’ve got the usual 8-ball and 9-ball modes, and honestly, the physics hold up better than you’d expect—no weird glitches where the ball suddenly veers off for no reason. The controls take a minute to get used to (hold A to adjust power, B to aim), but after a couple of missed shots, it clicks.
What surprised me was how tense some of the matches get. The AI isn’t a pushover, especially in later rounds, and there’s something weirdly satisfying about pulling off a bank shot on that little green grid. It’s not flashy, but if you’ve ever wanted a no-nonsense pool game for quick sessions, this one’s solid. Just don’t expect fancy graphics—it’s pure late-’90s Game Boy charm.
