Chameleon Twist is one of those weird, charming N64 platformers that never got enough love. You play as Davy, this goofy little chameleon who can whip his tongue out like a grappling hook—swinging across gaps, snatching up enemies, and even using them as projectiles. The controls take a minute to get used to, but once you figure out the timing for tongue jumps, you’ll be bouncing between platforms like a pro.
The levels are full of little secrets tucked away in corners, and some of the puzzles actually make you think about how to use your tongue in creative ways. The art style holds up surprisingly well too—bright colors, squishy-looking enemies, and this weird dreamlike quality to the whole world. It’s not the hardest game out there, but it’s got enough challenge to keep you entertained without feeling cheap.
If you’re into offbeat platformers with personality, this one’s a hidden gem worth digging up.
