Chameleon Twist is one of those weird little N64 gems that never got enough love. You play as this dopey-looking chameleon who can whip his tongue out like a grappling hook—sounds simple, but it gets surprisingly creative. The first level throws you right into it: you're latching onto poles to swing over gaps, snatching apples out of the air, and even using your tongue like a pogo stick to bounce on enemies.
The controls take a minute to get used to (that tongue has a mind of its own sometimes), but once it clicks, swinging around feels oddly satisfying. The levels are bright and full of little secrets—I remember getting stuck for ages trying to figure out how to reach this one hidden area behind a waterfall. And the enemies? Some of them are just... bizarre, like these walking mushrooms that scream when you hit them.
It's not the longest game, but there's something charming about how unapologetically silly it is. If you're into offbeat platformers, this one's worth dusting off the N64 for.
