Chameleon Twist 2 is one of those weird, charming N64 platformers that never got enough love. You play as Davy, a little chameleon with a stretchy tongue that works like a grappling hook—swing across gaps, snag enemies, even use it to fling yourself around like some kind of reptilian slingshot. The controls take a minute to get used to, but once you figure out the timing, pulling off ridiculous tongue swings feels oddly satisfying.
The levels are full of bright, cartoony nonsense—floating islands, giant mushrooms, that kind of thing—and there’s a surprising amount of puzzle-solving mixed in with the platforming. Sometimes you’re bouncing on springy flowers, other times you’re using your tongue to flip switches or redirect water pipes. It’s janky in that classic N64 way, but in a good way, like the developers just went for it instead of worrying about being too polished.
Honestly, half the fun is just seeing how far you can stretch Davy’s tongue before something goes horribly wrong. The game knows it’s silly and leans into it hard.
