About Casino Funpak
I picked up Casino Funpak for the Game Boy back when it was a new release, published by BMB. It was one of those many cartridges that tried to bring a full casino experience to the handheld. This was during the era where you'd find all sorts of simulation and compilation titles sitting on the shelf next to the platformers and RPGs.
You don't control a character so much as you navigate menus to play different games. The main objective is simply to win chips across a selection of classic casino games. The core mechanics involve choosing your bet, hitting or standing in blackjack, and spinning the reels in slots. You move from one game to the next through a simple menu system, and the pacing is generally slow and methodical, fitting for a handheld time-passer. It feels like having a pocket-sized casino that you can turn on for a few quiet rounds.
