Captain Tsubasa Vol. II: Super Striker is that weird, kinda janky NES soccer RPG where you pick a team of anime kids and run through matches that feel more like turn-based battles than actual sports. You’ve got special moves with ridiculous names—like the "Drive Shot" or "Tiger Shot"—that drain your stamina but basically guarantee a goal if you time them right. The controls take some getting used to, and the AI cheats like crazy, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about watching your little pixelated striker pull off an over-the-top super move.

It’s definitely not FIFA, but if you’re into retro sports games with RPG mechanics (or just love the Captain Tsubasa anime), this one’s a weird little time capsule. Just don’t expect it to play fair.
