Captain Tsubasa 2 on the NES is basically more of that wild, over-the-top soccer action from the first game—just with slightly cleaner sprites. You’re still pulling off ridiculous anime-style shots, sliding tackles that send opponents flying, and watching those dramatic cutscenes before big plays. It’s janky in that classic NES way, but if you liked the first one, this is more of the same chaos.
Fun detail: This was the last Tsubasa game on the Famicom before the series jumped to the Super Famicom, so it’s kind of a weird little time capsule. The moves are still absurd, the goalkeepers are either gods or useless, and you’ll probably yell at the screen when the AI pulls off some nonsense. If you’re into retro sports games with zero realism, it’s a weirdly charming relic.
