Captain Planet And The Planeteers Game
📅 1990 ✍️ Chris Gray Enterprises Inc.

Captain Planet and the Planeteers on NES is one of those weird licensed games from the '90s that somehow makes saving the planet feel like a clunky side-scroller. You play as the Planeteers (or Captain Planet when you summon him), jumping over pits and punching bad guys who, for some reason, look more like generic thugs than actual eco-villains.
The controls take a second to get used to—Z and X for attacks, arrows to move—but once you figure it out, it’s just a lot of running left to right, occasionally throwing out a weak energy blast. The graphics are about what you’d expect from an early '90s cartoon tie-in, which is to say, not great but kinda charming in a nostalgic way.
Honestly, the best part is hearing Captain Planet yell "Go Planet!" when he shows up. The rest is mostly just nostalgia fuel for anyone who remembers the cartoon. If you're looking for a deep retro experience, this isn’t it—but it’s a fun little time capsule if you grew up with the show.
