Captain America and the Avengers on NES is one of those classic beat 'em ups that feels both awesome and a little janky—like most arcade ports from back then. You pick from Cap, Iron Man, Vision, or Hawkeye (no Thor, sadly) and punch your way through waves of robots and goons. The controls are simple—jump, attack, and a weirdly satisfying projectile move—but some of the hit detection can be iffy.
It’s got that old-school charm though, with bright colors and chunky sprites. The first level throws you right into a city brawl, and by the time you reach the first boss (usually some oversized robot), you’ll either be hooked or frustrated. The NES version cuts some corners compared to the arcade, but it’s still a fun time if you’re into retro co-op chaos. Just don’t expect it to play like modern brawlers.
