Capcom Barcelona '92 (japan) Game

Capcom Barcelona '92 is one of those weird little NES sports games that somehow ended up being way more fun than it had any right to be. It's an officially licensed Olympics-style game based on the Barcelona Summer Games, but with that classic Capcom arcade feel—think exaggerated animations, chunky sprites, and controls that are simple but just deep enough to keep you trying for a better score.
You pick from a handful of events like sprinting, swimming, and weightlifting, each with their own button-mashing or timing-based mechanics. The javelin throw was my favorite—timing the release just right feels oddly satisfying, even if the physics are totally unrealistic. And yeah, the graphics are obviously dated, but there's charm in those blocky athletes and their stiff victory animations.
It's the kind of game you fire up for quick rounds with friends, laughing at how ridiculous some of the events play out. Definitely a niche pick, but if you're into retro sports games, this one's got personality.
