Bust a Move '99 is that classic bubble-popping puzzle game you probably remember from arcades, but now it's on the N64 with some extra flair. You're shooting colored bubbles up the screen, trying to match three of the same color to make 'em pop—simple at first, but it gets wild when the ceiling starts creeping down on you. The real magic happens in multiplayer, where you and a friend can go head-to-head, sabotaging each other with weird power-ups like lightning bubbles or sudden screen flips.
I spent way too many sleepovers yelling at the screen because my buddy dropped a bomb bubble on my nearly-perfect chain. The single-player mode has its moments too, especially when you unlock the weirder stages with funky patterns. It’s not the fanciest puzzle game out there, but there’s something satisfying about that *pop* when you clear a huge chunk at once. If you’ve got an N64 and a competitive streak, this one’s a solid time-killer.
