Bust-A-Move 2: Arcade Edition came out for the Game Boy in 1996, published by Taito. You control a cannon at the bottom of the screen, aiming and firing colored bubbles upward. The main goal is to clear each screen of bubbles by matching three or more of the same color. Your primary tools are the angle of your shot and the ability to bank bubbles off the side walls; you also watch for clusters, as clearing one section can make a whole connected group fall. The game starts gently but the pace picks up, and the later puzzles demand careful planning as the ceiling slowly descends. It feels satisfying to set off a long chain reaction and watch the screen clear up.
