Burger Time Deluxe on Game Boy is one of those weirdly stressful games where you’re just trying to make burgers, but everything wants to stop you. You play as this little chef running around giant platforms, dropping burger ingredients—buns, patties, lettuce—layer by layer while hot dogs, eggs, and pickles chase you down. Mess up, and you’re basically a chef-shaped pancake.

The controls are simple—left, right, up ladders—but the enemies get sneaky fast. I kept getting cornered by those bouncing eggs until I figured out you can drop ingredients on them to stun ‘em. The pixel art’s got that classic Game Boy charm, all chunky and satisfying when you complete a burger and watch it vanish.

It’s harder than it looks, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about outrunning a sentient hot dog to finish a double-decker. Just don’t blame me if you start craving burgers after a few rounds.
