Remember when every cartoon character had to star in their own NES-style platformer? Crazy Castle II is the Game Boy sequel to Bugs Bunny’s first maze-running adventure, and it’s… well, it’s exactly what you’d expect from 1991. You hop between floors, dodging Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam while collecting carrots (because of course Bugs needs carrots).
The controls are stiff by today’s standards, and some of the enemy patterns feel downright unfair—like that one room where Daffy just won’t stop shooting. But there’s a weird charm to it, especially if you grew up with the original. Just don’t expect any Looney Tunes-level chaos; this is pure old-school frustration with a cartoon coat of paint.
Fun fact: The Japanese version replaced Bugs with Roger Rabbit. Weird, right?
