Bucky O'Hare came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, developed and published by Konami. It was part of that wave of late NES games that tried to do a lot with the hardware, based on the cartoon about a green rabbit leading a crew of animal rebels in space.

You control Bucky O'Hare himself, a rabbit with a blaster, on a mission to rescue your captured crew members from the Toad Empire. The main objective is to fight through a series of themed planets, each a multi-stage level, to free one of your allies. A signature mechanic is that once you rescue a crewmate, like the four-armed Blinky or the pilot Deadeye Duck, you can switch to them on the fly; each character has a unique weapon and ability, which you need to use to overcome specific obstacles and enemies in later stages. The game is structured with screen by screen exploration, often requiring precise jumps and quick shooting to clear rooms of toad soldiers and their machines. It moves at a fast pace and is known for being quite difficult, demanding quick reflexes and smart character selection. Playing it feels like managing a small, specialized team in the middle of a chaotic space battle.
