Okay, so Bubsy II on Game Boy—yeah, that weird, wisecracking bobcat is back, and he’s just as janky as you remember. The controls are a little slippery (classic Bubsy), but there’s something weirdly charming about bouncing around these tiny, pixelated levels, collecting yarn balls while enemies pop up out of nowhere.
First level drops you straight into the chaos: you’re dodging flying saucers, hopping on platforms that feel just a bit too narrow, and listening to Bubsy’s one-liners that somehow sound even grainier on the Game Boy’s speaker. The graphics are obviously stripped down from the SNES version, but the goofy vibe is still there—just don’t expect it to play like a precision platformer.
Honestly, it’s more fun if you go in knowing it’s a mess. The nostalgia hits hard, especially if you played this back in the day on a dim, green-tinted screen. Just watch out for those bottomless pits—Bubsy’s not great at stopping on a dime.
