About Bubble Bobble Part 2
Bubble Bobble Part 2 came out for the Game Boy in 1993, developed and published by Taito. It arrived during a period when the handheld was full of arcade style puzzle games and platformers, a familiar type of experience for players at the time. This sequel tried to build on the original's formula with some new ideas.
You control Bubby or Bobby, two small dinosaurs, through a series of single screen rooms. Your main goal is to clear each stage of enemies by trapping them in bubbles and then popping them. The game introduces new power ups, like a water gun that shoots streams instead of bubbles, and a super jump that lets you reach higher platforms. You explore the levels screen by screen, and the pacing is generally methodical, though it can get quite difficult in later stages. It feels like a careful, tactical dance against the enemies on each screen.
