Bubble Bobble on Game Boy is one of those classic arcade ports that somehow feels just right on a handheld. You play as these little dinosaurs—Bub and Bob—blowing bubbles to trap enemies, then popping them for points. Sounds simple, but the levels get sneaky fast, with platforms that disappear, enemies that zigzag unpredictably, and fruit that falls just out of reach.
There’s something weirdly satisfying about chaining bubble pops, especially when you clear a whole screen at once. The music’s catchy in that 8-bit way, and even though it’s got 100 levels, you’ll probably replay the early ones just to beat your high score. It’s the kind of game where you lose track of time because "just one more level" turns into ten.
If you’ve got a Game Boy and a soft spot for old-school arcade charm, this one’s a no-brainer.
