Boy And His Blob In The Rescue Of Princess Blobette, A (europe) Game
📅 1991 ✍️ Imagineering Inc.

Okay, so A Boy and His Blob is this weird little Game Boy gem where you team up with a sentient jellybean-shaped alien to save his girlfriend. Sounds ridiculous, but it’s oddly charming—you feed the blob different flavored jellybeans to make him transform into useful stuff, like a ladder or a parachute. Some of the puzzles are kinda janky (early Game Boy logic, you know?), but figuring out which jellybean does what feels satisfying when it clicks.
First time I played, I kept accidentally turning him into a trampoline when I needed a bridge, but once you get the hang of it, the whole thing has this cozy, low-stakes vibe. Also, the blob’s little happy animations when you feed him? Weirdly adorable. Definitely one of those "so bad it’s good" cult classics.
