Boy And His Blob, A - Trouble On Blobolonia Game
📅 1989 ✍️ Imagineering Inc.

Ever tried feeding jellybeans to a blob? That’s basically the whole game—you’ve got this weird little alien buddy who transforms into different tools depending on what flavor you toss him. Need a ladder? Licorice bean. Trampoline? Bubblegum. Half the fun is figuring out which bean does what, and the other half is watching the blob’s goofy little animations when he morphs.
It’s got that classic NES charm—simple but surprisingly tricky puzzles, and that one screen where you swear there’s no way forward until you remember the vanilla bean exists. The controls are a bit stiff (it is the NES), but there’s something weirdly satisfying about bouncing around Blobolonia with your squishy sidekick. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand—this one makes you work for those solutions.
Also, the hug animation at the end? Worth the frustration.
