Boomer's Adventure in ASMIK World is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that never got the attention it deserved. You play as Boomer, this little blue dude with a propeller beanie, bouncing around surreal levels filled with floating platforms, weird enemies, and some seriously trippy backgrounds for a Game Boy game.
The controls take a second to get used to—Boomer doesn’t just walk, he kind of glides and bounces, which feels odd at first but ends up making the platforming way more interesting. And the music? Super catchy in that classic chiptune way. I still hum the first level theme sometimes.
It’s not the longest game, but the levels are packed with secrets and alternate paths. Some of the later stages get surprisingly tough, especially when the screen starts scrolling and you’re dodging spikes and enemies at the same time. Definitely worth a play if you’re into quirky retro platformers.
