If you grew up with Sailor Moon, this Game Boy game is pure nostalgia fuel. You jump right in as Usagi—or any of the other Sailor Scouts—bouncing between side-scrolling beat-em-up stages and turn-based boss fights. The pixel art nails the anime’s style, especially when you trigger a transformation sequence (yes, the sparkles are there).
Combat’s simple but satisfying—mash through enemies with Moon Tiara throws or team up for combo attacks. Some of the later levels get surprisingly tough, though. I remember getting stuck on that one boss who spams darkness attacks until I figured out Mercury’s bubble shield could block them. Classic 90s jank, but in a charming way.
It’s short, and the dialogue’s all in Japanese, but if you’ve seen the show, you’ll recognize the story beats. Perfect for a lazy afternoon when you want to feel like a sparkly cosmic guardian again.
