Bird Week is one of those weirdly charming NES games that makes you go, "Wait, this is a thing?" You play as this little bird parent trying to feed your hungry chicks by catching butterflies mid-flight—which sounds simple, but the controls are just floaty enough to make it weirdly tense. Miss too many bugs, and your babies start chirping desperately. It’s kinda stressful in a cute way.
The music’s got that classic 8-bit chirpiness, and the whole thing feels like a fever dream version of a nature documentary. Not gonna lie, I failed my first few tries because I kept overshooting the butterflies. You get the hang of it, though, and there’s something weirdly satisfying about watching your chicks finally grow up and fly off. Definitely a niche pick, but if you like oddball retro games, it’s a neat little time capsule.
