Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure on NES is one of those weird, janky licensed games that somehow works. You switch between controlling Bill or Ted in this top-down adventure where you're basically running around different time periods trying to convince historical figures to come back for your history report. Sounds simple, but half the time you're getting thrown in jail by random NPCs or having your cash stolen.
The real fun comes from the bizarre items you find—like cassette tapes that make enemies break into dance, or pudding cups that... well, honestly, I still don't know why pudding helps, but it does. Each level hides "historical bait" to lure figures like Napoleon or Genghis Khan, and then you've got to navigate this weird phone booth time-travel maze where every turn costs coins. Run out, and boom—back to the start. It's frustrating in that very 80s NES way, but the weird humor keeps it entertaining.
Definitely a game where you either love the chaos or rage-quit after the third jailbreak attempt.
