Bill Elliott's NASCAR Challenge is one of those old-school NES racers where, yeah, you're basically just turning left a lot—but somehow, it's weirdly satisfying. The tracks feel tight, and if you don't time your turns just right, you'll eat the wall hard. The AI drivers aren't pushovers either; they'll nudge you into the grass if you let them.
At first, the controls feel a little stiff, like you're wrestling with the car more than driving it. But after a few laps, you start getting into a rhythm—brake just before the curve, ease into the turn, then punch it on the straightaway. The engine sound is pure 8-bit growl, and honestly, it never gets old.
It's not the deepest racing sim out there, but for a quick dose of nostalgia, it still holds up. Just don't expect Daytona USA.
