Beetlejuice on NES is this weirdly charming mix of side-scrolling and top-down chaos where you play as the ghost with the most, terrorizing the Deetz family and their stuck-up friends. You start off just stomping cockroaches for points—which feels oddly satisfying—but soon you're spending those points on wild scare tactics like turning into a snake or summoning a giant hand to slap enemies around.
The levels flip between perspectives, so one minute you're platforming through the attic, the next you're in an overhead view of the living room, dodging furniture and spooking yuppies. The bosses are the real highlight—each one has this goofy, exaggerated design that fits the movie's vibe perfectly. It's janky in that classic NES way, but there's something about the absurdity that makes it hard to put down. If you're into retro games with personality, this one's a trip.
