Okay, so Beethoven's 2nd on Game Boy—yeah, it's exactly what it sounds like. You play as that giant, slobbery St. Bernard from the movie, running around causing chaos while trying to rescue puppies. The controls are a little stiff (classic Game Boy platformer vibes), but there's something weirdly charming about knocking over flower pots and outsmarting dogcatchers with your big dopey dog.
First few minutes? You're immediately herding those tiny puppies through suburban backyards, jumping over fences that feel just a little too high. The music’s this bouncy, forgettable loop, but the sprite work is actually pretty decent for a licensed game—Beethoven’s got this goofy, determined trot when he runs. It’s not gonna blow your mind, but if you’re into ‘90s movie tie-ins or just want to wreck a virtual garden as a massive dog, it’s a weird little time capsule.
Definitely one of those "how did this get made?" games, but in a fun way.
