Okay, so Battletoads in Ragnarok’s World is basically the Game Boy version of that classic "why is this so hard?" Battletoads experience, but with a weird Norse mythology twist. You’ve got your usual toad trio—Rash, Zitz, and Pimple—but now they’re smacking around trolls and hopping across floating runes instead of space worms.
First thing you’ll notice? The controls are still kinda stiff, just like the original. You’ll miss jumps, get wrecked by enemies you didn’t see coming, and probably yell at your Game Boy at least once. But that’s part of the charm, right? The levels mix platforming with some beat-em-up sections, and there’s even a few vehicle stages that’ll make you question your life choices.
It’s not just a reskin, though—some of the new enemies and bosses are actually pretty creative, like this one dude who chucks mead barrels at you. And yeah, the humor’s still there, mostly in the weirdly exaggerated attack animations. If you’re into retro masochism or just love the Battletoads vibe, this one’s worth a shot. Just maybe keep a walkthrough handy.
