About Battletoads & Double Dragon - The Ultimate Team
Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team came out for the NES in 1993, developed by Rare. It was a time when combining popular characters from different series felt like a special event, and this game brought the brawling worlds of Double Dragon and Battletoads together on a single cartridge.
You control one of five characters, either a Battletoad or one of the Double Dragon brothers, fighting through side scrolling levels. Your main goal is to stop the Dark Queen's spaceship by punching, kicking, and using special attacks against waves of enemies. Signature mechanics include using weapons you knock from foes' hands, like bats and knives, and the Battletoads' morphing abilities that turn their limbs into giant fists or hammers for powerful strikes. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty is notoriously high, demanding precise timing and pattern recognition.
