Battle Unit Zeoth is one of those early Game Boy shooters that somehow makes a tiny screen feel massive. You're piloting this hulking mech, blasting waves of alien ships that come at you from all sides—some swoop in fast, others take their time, but they all explode real nice when you hit them just right.
The controls are simple—dodge, shoot, repeat—but the challenge ramps up quick. By the third stage, you're weaving through bullet patterns that barely fit on the display, and that chunky robot sprite suddenly feels way less invincible. The music's got that classic Game Boy grit too, all bleeps and bloops that somehow make dodging lasers more intense.
It's not the deepest shooter out there, but for a pocket-sized alien war, it holds up better than you'd expect.
