Battle Unit Zeoth is one of those Game Boy shooters that somehow makes a tiny screen feel massive. You're piloting this chunky mech, blasting through waves of alien ships that just keep coming—some zig-zag, others dive straight at you, and half the time I'm just mashing buttons hoping my spread shot catches them all.
The controls are simple (d-pad and two buttons, classic GB style), but don't let that fool you. Later levels get brutal—enemy patterns get faster, bullets fill the screen, and your hitbox feels way bigger than it should. Still, there's something satisfying about finally nailing a run after memorizing where those sneaky drones pop up.
Graphically, it's peak late-era Game Boy: crunchy explosions, chunky sprites, and a surprisingly good soundtrack for something running on that hardware. If you miss the days of squinting at a dim screen while your thumbs cramp up, this one's a solid time capsule.
